Irish pop sensation and food lover Samantha Mumba jetted home from LA, to help Just Eat celebrate National Takeaway Tuesday. Taking place on Tuesday 22nd January, this annual celebration, developed by Ireland’s leading online food-ordering and delivery service, gives fans the chance to enjoy 10% off their card order, with a further 10% donated to Just Eat charity partner, Peter McVerry Trust.
With precious little left in the coffers as the countdown to payday continues, customers are encouraged to tap the app and claim this tasty 10% discount on card orders while also giving back to those less fortunate. Now in its fourth year, National Takeaway Tuesday is just one of the many initiatives we will be running in 2019 to help raise vital funds for homeless people in Ireland.
To date, Just Eat customers have generated over €50,000 for the Peter McVerry Trust, which is enough to move five people out of homelessness and into better futures.
As the latest figures released show a continued increase in the number of families in emergency accommodation, with 9,968 people homeless in the week of November 19th-25th 2018, Pat Doyle, CEO of Peter McVerry Trust said, “Homelessness is not living, it’s survival and as we see temperatures dropping to below freezing, the support of programmes like this from Just Eat greatly enhance our ability to respond to the growing needs of those most at risk in our society. In 2017 we worked with 4,971 people, which was the highest annual figure in our 34-year history, with all proceeds raised by Just Eat customers on National Takeaway Tuesday helping us to scale up in response to this national emergency.”
Customers have until midnight on Tuesday 22nd January to avail of this exclusive Just Eat National Takeaway Tuesday discount and make their donation by simply ordering their favourite dish and entering code ‘NTT2019’ at checkout. Stay on track or have a treat, with over 40 different cuisine types now available nationwide on the Just Eat app.
