Need some foodie inspiration? Going through the same order again and again? Well, we’ve got some recommendations that are sure to set your imagination alight! It’s hard to know what to order but in our ‘Your Next Order’ blog series we’re taking you through some delish cuisines and where and what you should be ordering. This week, we’re talking Italian. Cuisine, not the language…
The master of the lunch order. You know when you hear Al Boschetto being thrown around in the office then you’re in for a delish lunchtime treat. Their lunchtime specials are what dreams are made of, Sandwich Di Manzo is the perfect example of this, marinated rib eye beef dressed with green pepper sauce, packed into ciabatta bread served with grana shavings and skinny fries. That’s our order right there. They have some pretty enticing vegetarian options too. The Risotto Di Verdure is perfect for a cheeky Friday lunch order, arborio rice cooked with roast vegetables in a tomato-based sauce. Italian dishes delivered to your office. Ideal.
If you like choice, look no further than Mona Lisa. From seafood to calzones to vegetarian pasta, this is a little gem in Galway. The Ravioli alla Spigola is a standout dish, ravioli pasta filled with seabass, citrus zest, cooked with prawn, mussels, cherry tomatoes & white wine sauce – pure perfection. They also have some delish starters that are worth an order like the Parmigiana di Melanzane o di Zucchine which is layers of baked aubergine, fresh tomato sauce basil & aged parmesan cheese. If that hasn’t excited your tastebuds than we don’t know what will!
La Dolce Vita
You yourself could be living the sweet life if you order from this Italian restaurant in Cork. They have some signature ravioli dishes that we must say are quite delicious but we don’t recommend sharing as they’re too good! The Lobster & Crab Ravioli is… just order it. Dolce vita lobster & crab ravioli, cooked with prawns, saffron cream & pistachios. Or if you prefer your dishes a little more classic, the Pollo Fungi is also a winner with grilled chicken cooked in a creamy mushroom sauce, served with vegetables and potatoes. Something for everyone.
If you’re looking for a meal deal, Casa Nova in Limerick has you covered. With an amazing selection of pizzas, you can pair two large pizzas with a choice of garlic bread or onion rings and a large drink for one delish meal deal perfect for a movie night. If you’re not feeling pizza, don’t fret – they also have some unreal pasta dishes sure to have you looking out your window for that delivery! We’re a fan of the Pollo di Casa, succulent strips of chicken breast cooked in red wine, peppers, mushrooms, onions and tossed in a tomato sauce with penne pasta. Yum!
The Big Blue Bus
We couldn’t not include a pizzeria on this list! We wouldn’t be doing one of our favourite foods of all time justice! The Big Blue Bus has the art of pizza making down to a tee. Their handmade pizzas really are worth an order and are perfect for sharing with family and friends. Some of our favourites are Pablo’s Pepperoni Pizza, double pepperoni, free range chorizo, tomato sauce and mozzarella and the Volumptuous Vegan Pizza is also a winner, with baby spinach, cashew nuts, local mushrooms, mixed peppers, sundried tomatoes, red onion & tomato sauce, served with vegan red pesto. Perfection! 👌
We’re big fans of this sweet spot in Kerry. Their homely Italian dishes are ideal for a night in with the family and you can be sure the kids won’t be disappointed. The Lasagne Con Carne is a must, this cheesy goodness with a little spice served with your choice of chips or salad. They also have some of their own special pizzas. The Uno Special Pizza is perfect for sharing, with tomato, mozzarella, ham, salami, pepperoni, mushrooms, peppers, onions and sweetcorn. You won’t hear a peep of the family for at least a few minutes.
If you’re a fan of stone oven pizzas then you’re in luck with Wallace Asti. To ensure their pizzas are of the best quality the let the dough to mature slowly for at least 48 hours before preparation and use San Marzano pelati for the base of all their pizzas. We’re a fan of the Bruto, a white pizza with mozzarella fiordilatte, pancetta, potatoes & red onions it’s definitely worth a try. The Calzone is also a popular order when you just want to curl up after a long day, a folded pizza with mozzarella fiordilatte, ham, mushrooms & organic tomato sauce on the side. What could be better?
