Vegetarian dishes are becoming increasingly popular, and the vegetarian lifestyle, in general, is ever on the rise as more people try to lead a more plant-based diet. In honour of World Vegetarian Day, Just Eat has picked out some fabulous vegetarian dishes that are perfect for a cosy night in, a lunchtime treat or a mid-week feast!

We’ve all been there, not wanting to face another lunch from the plastic lunchbox in our bags – it’s nice to have a healthy treat delivered to the office to make those long days that bit more enjoyable. And if you’re trying to incorporate more plant-based produce into your diet, Freshii have countless options that are perfect any day of the week, one of our favourites is the Mediterranean Bowl, you can choose your own base, we like the half quinoa and half greens and it’s topped off with kalamata olives, feta, cucumber, roasted red pepper, red onion, tomato, almonds, coriander and a sprinkle of red pepper sauce. If you want to add some protein to the bowl – marinated tofu is the perfect compliment.

Balinese Yellow Curry

Asian fusion restaurant Chameleon has a great selection of Asian dishes and we would say try them all but we need to pick one. And the Balinese Yellow Curry is our winner! this delicious coconut curry boasts flavours of lemongrass, nutmeg, galangal, red chilies, and black pepper – this dish is served alongside basmati rice and pickles. A humdinger of a dish!

Veggie Quesadilla

There are very few things in this world that make us as excited as the potential of eating a quesadilla. All that cheesy goodness wrapped up and toasted. Heaven, we say! Douglas Kaldi Rathborne boasts a great range of breakfast dishes, sandwiches, salads and more that all have veggie options. The Veggie Quesadilla is music to our eyes though. The grilled tomato wrap is filled with bell peppers, red onion, courgette, aubergine, carrot, kidney beans, and topped with fajita seasoning, salsa and a healthy dose of mixed cheese – talk about the ultimate treat!

Green Curry

Curries are a guilty pleasure – especially as the evenings are starting to get darker and colder. There’s nothing better than curling up with a spicy curry and a good film. It’s the simple things. Which is why we love this simple Green Curry from Tamarind, with a range of vegetarian dishes it’s hard to select just one but an aromatic Green Curry is hard to resist. Creamy and delicious, it sure to please and comes with eggplant, mangeout, seasonal greens and tofu.

Veggie Burger | Just Eat

Chickpea & PB Burger

We couldn’t not put in a delish veggie burger! Box Burger do some pretty sensational burgers (but we didn’t need to tell you that) and they also have some solid vegetarian/vegan options, like the Chickpea and PB Burger. It’s pretty self-explanatory but his baby has chickpeas, peanut butter, carrot, courgette and cumin patty, mango, cucumber, jalapeno, slaw, and rocket. Our mouth is watering just typing that. You can also add some sides like dirty fries or a green salad depending on what vibe you’re feeling.

“Kung-Po” Tofu

After a little vegetarian kick? You’re in luck – Hailan Japanese have the vegetarian dishes game down with some delish Chinese options. We’re partial to some spice, so the “Kung-Po” Tofu caught our eye. If you’re only after a lil bit of spice, they can adjust to your preferred taste level, talk about ideal! This dish consists of a bean curd with pak choi (that’s Chinese cabbage if you didn’t know – it’s delish don’t worry), cashew nuts all in the spicy sauce with your own choice of rice/egg fried rice.
