The JUST EAT National Takeaway Awards Winners 2016

Tuesday 18^th October 2016: After weeks of voting, tonight saw the winners of the JUST EAT National Takeaway Awards crowned in 20 categories.

There were 20 categories this year with consumers able to vote for any take-out restaurant in Ireland. The awards are the first in Ireland to recognise the quality of food, choice and service consistently delivered by this important sector of the food services industry. A DKM economic impact report published earlier this year found that the sector is responsible for 24,900 direct jobs in 2,995 establishments selling food to takeaway.

The annual JUST EAT National Takeaway Awards is the opportunity for customers to recognise and reward their favourite restaurant and favourite dish. Voting took place over the past few weeks with nearly 14,000 votes cast nationwide.

The event took place in Fallon & Byrne where hosts Pippa O’Connor Ormond and Brian Dowling handed out awards to winners in 20 categories including Best Takeaway Chinese, Best Takeaway Salad, Best Takeaway Mexican and Best Takeaway Indian.
