BBQ Inspired Takeaways

Irish summers. It’s good for wind, rain, snowstorms, avalanches and hurricanes. Rubbish for barbecues. Let the delivery driver deal with that mess! Forget that soggy grill, grab a drink, then check out these delicious BBQ inspired takeaway eats.

Scientists can predict with 100% certainty that this will happen to you.

1. Barbecue Ribs

We had to start with ribs. Why? Just look at them. Juicy ribs, coated in tangy, sticky barbecue sauce and cooked to perfection. Start as you mean to go on, people. And starting with ribs is always going to mean you’re satisfied.

2. Bacon Cheeseburger

If it’s going to be a real summer barbecue burger, you’ll need more than beef. Cover that bad boy in big chunks of cheddar, red onion and relish. Finally, top it off with some onion rings. By the time you’re eating it, you definitely won’t care that it’s still pouring down outside.

3. Piri-Piri Chicken Wings

Hot chickeny goodness. If a burger isn’t your style, then maybe you’ll appreciate some perfectly spiced piri-piri chicken wings and drumsticks. Our advice: don’t go overboard with the extra-hot piri-piri sauce. Bad things happen.

4. Grilled Halloumi Kebab

You won’t miss the meat. Take some thick slabs of grilled halloumi cheese, top it off with some grilled peppers, tomatoes and any other salad that takes your fancy. So long as you don’t go overboard with the cheese, it’s also pretty healthy.

5. Hot-Dogs

Sausage in a bun? Not good enough. You’re going to have to aim higher. Get whatever you can on it – onions are the absolute minimum. You might get lucky and find somewhere that takes their hot dogs seriously – then you can try some really interesting combinations. Pulled pork on a hot dog? Yes please.
