Just-Eat.ie & CheapEats.ie Team up to find your favourite food & place to eat!

Last week Just-Eat.ie conducted a survey in association with CheapEats.ie to find out what the nations favourite cuisine was and also to find out what restaurant/takeaway is the most popular.

Emer McCormack Online Marketing Manager said “ we were delighted with the amount of people that responded to our survey in association with CheapEats.ie, when the data was correlated it was extremely reflective of our own customer data on Just-Eat.ie”.

Ireland simply cannot get enough of Chinese food, Chinese cuisine took the lead position with 40% of the vote when respondents were asked ‘what is your favourite cuisine’. However there was only six votes to separate Chinese food from Indian food, Indian food represented 34% of the vote. McCormack noted “It becoming apparent that Irish people’s pallet is changing and we as a nation are becoming more adventurous with our food, this time last year our own statistics on Just-Eat.ie showed that Indian food was in 5th position so this is a massive leap for this type of cuisine”.

Another interesting cuisine type to enter the mix was French cuisine holding 10% of the vote, followed by traditional fish and chips at 9%, pizza at 4%  and other American cuisine at 3% of the overall vote.

Restaurants/Takeaways receiving the highest amount of votes were as follows:

Chinese Food– Top Restaurant/Take-away: Jade Palace with locations in Cork and Waterford.

Indian Food– Top Restaurant/Take-away: India Gate, Nutgrove, Dublin 14.

French Food– Top Restaurant/Take-away:  l’gueuleton, Dublin 2.

Fish and Chips- Top Restaurant/Take-away: Burdocks, Christchurch, Dublin 8.
