Asian Fusion: Favourite Dishes From Each Cuisine

We love Asian cuisine. There’s just so many options to choose from such a diverse range of dishes. Asian food has become incredibly popular in recent years with people discovering all of this deliciousness. It’s hard to think what life was like before had all this flavour in our lives. With so many dishes and so many cuisines within the continent of Asia, we’ve hand-picked some of our standout dishes that are our favourite dishes to order on Just Eat.

Pad Thai

All hail this holy dish that hails from Thailand. Pad Thai originated after Thailand was suffering a significant rice shortage during World War II, and the government started to promote the consumption of noodles which in turn helped to promote the identity of Thailand. The dish is traditionally made with soaked dried rice noodles, that are then stir-fried with eggs, heaps of flavour is achieved by adding, dried shrimp, fish sauce, garlic, chilies, bean sprouts, shallots all topped off with chopped roasted peanuts and a wedge of lime. Sounds like a dream to us! A selection of meats can be paired with the dish but typically chicken is a popular choice or tofu for our vegetarian friends. Pad Thai is a classic and popular Asian dish and we can see why! Sawadee Thai have some of our favourite Thai dishes that are worth checking out.

Ramen

Ramen is bae, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise! This fabulous Japanese dish (although some people do claim the dish is of Chinese origin) has really seen a growth in popularity in recent years – and we can certainly understand why. Although almost every region of Japan has their own version of the dish, classically it consists of Chinese-style wheat noodles served in a meat-based broth that is delish (complete unbiased opinion), flavoured with miso or soy sauce. And then it is topped off with meat, dried seaweed, green onions and menma. If you haven’t explored the world of Ramen yet, we might suggest this as a definite dish to curl up with, Wagamama does quite the selection of Ramen and we recommend all of them, especially the Grilled Duck Ramen.

Chicken Curry

This dish might already be well known to you, but you can’t deny it is absolutely mouth-wateringly good. Chicken curry is a common delicacy of Southeast Asia with heavy influences from Indian cuisine on this particular dish. It’s made by stewing chicken in an onion and tomato based sauce (that western cooking has replaced with curry powder) and adding in ginger, tomato puree, chili peppers, garlic, cardamom, turmeric, cumin and sometimes coriander and cinnamon. And as most of us already know, it’s served over a bed of rice, or more traditionally with rice flour chapatis. This dish might be well and truly tested but it’s certainly a favourite of so many – you can get some great curry options from Curry House.

Kofta

A pretty simple but rather tasty dish if you ask us. It can commonly be found in Central Asia and the Middle East – it consists of ground meat such as beef, lamb, chicken or pork mixed with herbs, spices, and onions and rolled into a ball. The koftas are the cooked in a spicy curry and served with a choice of rice or Indian pieces of bread. If that doesn’t tickle your taste buds, we don’t know what will! Tadka House has some fabulous Indian dishes and we recommend all of them.

Sushi

We can’t mention some of our favourite Asian eats and not bring up sushi! Sushi is life, and that’s just facts. The versatility of sushi is what makes it so great – everything from sushi rolls to seafood by itself. It’s all pretty delish and just whack a load of soy sauce on those babies and you’ve got yourself a meal. Not to mention it’s a healthy choice any day of the week.
